Chlorophytum Green Spider Plant Care Guide

Keeping your Green Spider Plant healthy is simple with a few basic care tips:

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but also adapts well to moderate indoor light. Avoid prolonged harsh afternoon sunlight.
• Water: Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, as consistently soggy soil may lead to root rot.
• Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix that allows excess water to drain easily.
• Fertilizer: Feed once a month during the active growing season with a balanced fertilizer. Organic options such as Seaweed Granules or Vermicompost also work well.
• Temperature & Humidity: Grows best between 18°C and 24°C in normal indoor humidity.
• Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years, or when the roots become crowded, using a slightly larger pot with fresh potting mix.
• Propagation: Mature plants naturally produce spiderettes (baby plants) that can be separated and replanted to grow new Green Spider Plants.

Pro Tip: If your plant arrives in a nursery net pot, you can usually place it directly into a larger decorative pot without removing the net, provided the roots have room to grow.
