How to Care for Cobra Lily / Arisaema Speciosum Bulbs in India:

Flowering:

Cobra Lily features unusual, cobra-shaped blooms that can vary in color from deep burgundy and purple to green and white. The flowers typically appear in late spring to early summer, providing an intriguing and exotic focal point in any garden or floral display.

Leaves:

The foliage consists of large, divided leaves that are often green but may also have variegated patterns. These striking leaves provide a lush backdrop to the unique flowers and add a touch of tropical flair to the plant’s appearance.

Light:

Thrives in partial to full shade. In the Indian climate, it is crucial to protect the plants from direct, harsh sunlight, especially during the hottest part of the day. Ideal locations include shaded garden beds or areas with filtered sunlight.

Soil:

Prefers rich, well-draining soil, thriving in loamy or sandy compositions. Incorporating organic matter, such as compost or well-rotted manure, can enhance soil fertility and drainage, promoting healthy growth and flowering.

Watering:

Requires regular watering to keep the soil consistently moist, especially during the growing season. In the Indian climate, where temperatures can be high, it is essential to ensure the soil does not dry out completely. However, avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot. Cobra lilies appreciate a deep watering once or twice a week, depending on the climate and soil conditions.

Temperature:

Prefers cool to moderate temperatures and thrives in areas with mild winters and spring summers. In warmer parts of India, provide shade and mulching to keep the soil cool. In colder regions, bulbs can be left in the ground with proper mulching for winter protection.
