How to Care for Rain Lily ‘Double Petal Lotus Pink’
Soil
Use well-draining soil enriched with organic compost or cocopeat. Rain Lilies dislike soggy roots, so a loose, porous medium is essential.
Water
Water thoroughly after planting. Once established, water only when the topsoil is dry. The plant responds wonderfully to natural rain or watering cycles and often blooms a few days after being watered.
Light Requirement
Thrives best in full to partial sunlight. Outdoors, choose a bright spot. Indoors, place near a window that receives plenty of indirect light.
Temperature & Humidity
Ideal temperature range is 20°C to 35°C. Rain Lilies love warmth and moderate humidity, making them suitable for most tropical and subtropical regions.
Pest Control
Generally pest-free, but occasional aphids or spider mites can appear. A gentle spray of neem oil or an organic pesticide can easily control them.
Fertilizer
Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer (NPK 10:10:10 or 19:19:19) once every 2–3 weeks during the growing season to promote lush foliage and vibrant blooming.
Dormancy Period
Rain Lilies may go dormant in colder months. Reduce watering during this time. With the return of warmth and rainfall, they’ll spring back to life and bloom again.
